Moving Image

David Foreman produces moving image art in association with his film company en plein air Films. His projects focus on capturing the timelessness of the Australian landscapes using an ambient approach intended to produce calm and space to engage and reflect.

'This accommodates many levels of viewing and listening attention without enforcing one in particular. The gentle tempo of the visuals requires the viewer to participate and evokes a sense of mystery that springs from the landscapes, in contrast to those depicted in a more generic convention.'

He lives on Kangaroo Island, South Australia - Karta Pintingga - which has a significant cultural connection to the Ngarrindjeri, Ramindjeri, Kaurna and Nurrunga people and he acknowledges their deep spiritual relationship to Karta and it's surrounding oceans. He extends that acknowledgement to all those first nations groups whose country he has filmed.
